Originally released in 1989, the Nintendo Game Boy was a tectonic shift in how us kids experienced gaming. We didn’t have to be in the living room to play Mario… we could be anywhere. The Game Boy came with me on many camping trips; a great friend during those long car rides as I raced through Super RC Pro-Am.
My interest eventually shifted to more robust gaming systems – but that little Game Boy found a home on my father’s desk at the Truro Police dispatch where, for years, he would happily play Tetris when the phones were quiet.
